Connor Coghill is a new face on the boxing scene and is hoping to make his professional debut at the Banquet Suite, Leeds on 2nd March 2018.
Born and raised in Hull, Connor and is managed by former Commonwealth Lightweight Champion, MBE Luke Campbell. Winning Olympic gold in 2012, Luke is the perfect management choice to represent Connor show him his potential in the sport. Beginning his boxing career aged 10, Connor has shown great promise so far by winning 45 out of 60 amateur fights to date. Training at The Temple Health & Fitness Club in Hessle, Connor is surrounded by a great team and is coached by Stevie Smith. Stevie recognised Connors talent in the sport and encouraged him to start training after a 1-year break.
With his professional debut fast approaching, Connor is training hard and certainly isn’t afraid of a decent fight; “I want someone who is going to put me on the backfoot a bit and give me a bit of a fight."
Looking ahead of the fight on Friday, Connor has big ambitions in the sport; “If I got to British level and become British champion, I won’t rest until I get to commonwealth, European, and then world."
From Alex Smith to Luke Campbell, Hull has produced some incredible athletes over the years. Everyone in the city will be supporting Connor on Friday, watching him start what should be, a fantastic career in boxing.
